Replaced valve cover gaskets and now my temp Guage doesn't work!

I replaced the valve cover gaskets and finally no more leaking, but now my temp gauge doesn't work. I searched and found that there are two, one sensor and one sender. I saw a picture that Ceasar posted for the rear gauge sender but couldn't seem to find it. I have a 2001 sr5 4x4.

Where is the rear sender so I can most likely reconnect the single ground? Does anyone have a picture?

Ha, I had the same exact issue when I did mine

The sender is located in the back of the engine near the firewall, damn near in the middle

What happened was when removing my intake , I did not disconnect the sending unit, and I ripped the wire when I was lifting on the intake. From what I remmeber its a single wire I believe, and it is difficult to see because there may be some wire loom in the way that makes it hard to see. You should be able to see it by just moving wires around behind the intake/ rear of engine

Good luck, I'm almost certain you just forgot to plug it in or the wire may have ripped, it's just one wire though it should not be too difficult

Hope that helps

Well what do ya know, I found it. And in my brilliance, I ripped the wire out of the connector. If it wasnt super bowl sunday, I would be lifting the manifold off again today.
Thanks smog!
