Check out my build, it's like page 22 or something. I put some interior lights in myself.

There are lots of threads about this already. You can find really cheap LED bulbs on eBay that come from China. Usually takes a few weeks to receive them. I have compared them to the ones I have purchased from more expensive sellers in the US, they work just as well IMO. Do a search here on T4R for sizes and quantity.

I am currently doing this in my 99. I went with lights from superbrightleds.com. So far no problems. The only thing I would add is to look at the light for your shifter before you order. Since mine is a 2wd the light for the shifter is different. The #74 bulb is good for the 4wds but not in my 2wd 99. Hope this helps and good luck!

What sort of lights do you mean? Dome lights? Instrument lights? Looking to add your own light bars or footwell lights?

I stuck one of these in each of the large (middle and rear) dome lights:
Amazon.com: Neewer 48 SMD White LED Light Panel T10 Festoon BA9S Dome 12V: Automotive
They have adhesive pads on the back, and are much brighter than the incandescent bulbs that were in there before. Mine is a 1998, so I don't know if the dome lights are the same as in a 2000, but these LED arrays fit in with plenty of room to spare. They only cost 7 bucks, and you don't have to wait for them to ship from China.

You can also get the 12 SMD festoon style bulbs. I put those in my Pickup (much smaller interior) and are great. No modding needed, just find the right size (I think 31mm?).
On a side note/thread jack, anyone found LED's with a warmer light? My wife doesn't like the harsher blue color in my pickup and she's going to be driving the 4Runner a lot more. Just wondering if anyone has had any success finding any.

I have a set of those 6x8 led panels in the mail. Can't wait to see the inside of my truck at night!
