All said and done, what'd you spend on material?

The tubing is 1" 16 guage. I would really only want to be able to get a slight bend in the pipe to fit the roof line but that is being picky. Otherwise it came out how I wanted it to. As for mounting, on the front 2 feet I put Right Stuff under the feet so it would just stick to the roof and not shake and rattle, then there are 3 bolts on each side that go through some gussets and into the stock side rail nuts.

Not sure where my invoices are, however I want to say it was around $250ish for material and then $125 for powdercoating.

Personally, I can't stand any of the big name roof racks out there. They stick up way to high and just look dumb.

You've got the right idea. Full length and keep it low profile. Turned out real nice man. I'll probably be attacking that project after I finish building my rear swingouts. So far, you and Whitson have the best racks I've seen. Roof racks.... Whitson Metalworks |

What's the next project you've got planned?

Thanks! I did actually base my design off Whitson/ Gobi. I just didn't want to spend that money for those pre built ones.

I think I am going to buy rock sliders from 4x innovations, then build a front and rear bumper hopefully. Just have to see how timing works out if I get the time.

I like this a lot more than the curved designs It doesn't match the lines of the car but there's something sexy about angles. This is what I'll be basing my design off of for sure! Outside the box is always better to me.

Thanks for sharing man!

I know it, also angles are a lot easier to make. Just a bunch of cuts at 22.5 degrees and there ya have it.

You bet, always fun to show off a design or project!

Looks awesome. I wish I went with a full length whitson roof rack. I have the 3/4. I’m thinking of modifying it to a full length.
