Once I get it back from powder then I will post updated pics with mounting. But it is 3 bolts on each side for the back where the expanded metal is that will attach to the stock side rails and then I am just using sticky pads on the front to keep it from hopping.

Yes, after the test fit I took it off and reassembled the stock rails, so they are on there. What's funny is today was actually the first day that it has rained here in a while.

That looks amazing! I wish I would have taken a welding class when I was in high school. It's much harder to find an opportunity like that once your out. If I could weld I would have all kinds of goodies for my 4Runner haha. That looks like a nice shop you have access to there as well.

Nice rack! Haha. That's pretty much exactly what I'm going for in design on mine, except I'm going to slightly radius the tubes so it contours to the roof for an even lower profile. I like the mitered corners too. Maybe I'll do that instead of buying dies for the bender. A bit more cost effective. Well done though!

Thanks haha! I do wish I would have done a slight radius, but it sits pretty good still. In my mind doing the corners the way I did was easier in nearly every way over trying to bend them so that is what I went with.

That looks sooo good! How much did you spend on just the metal if you don't mind me asking? I'm contemplating teaching myself to weld somehow and making one myself haha

I envy you guys with the skill to do this. If I knew how to weld my truck would probably look like the Millennium Falcon.

Thanks! Its fine, I think the total for the metal alone came to about $250ish I wanna say. Would have to look back at the receipts to know for sure but it is close to that. I would say do it, it is amazing knowing how to weld. MIG or wire feed is the easiest and what i used for this build even though I know stick and a bit of TIG (well not good enough at tig to use it on a project yet). Find yourself a MIG welder or someone that has one and will let you use it, start out on some thicker metal so you don't burn through and go from there.

Hahaha You should totally learn to weld at least with MIG. It is not hard at all compared to the other forms of welding (stick and TIG... TIG sucks but is fun) I am not planning out a front and rear bumper and also a Hitch mount for a grill cuz why not right?

Thanks! Man yeah I am so glad I took that class! I am also very lucky with who I know for that shop, that helped a lot with getting it squared up.

What sized tube did you use? If you were to do it again, what would you do differently? Any pictures of the mounts?
