Question 4Runner non-powered antenna same as tacoma whip?

I found a guy parting out a 1996 4Runner that has a stock appearing non power antenna mast. It's a little over an hour away, so I wanted to see if anyone knew if this would be the equivalent as a tacoma whip? I assume some of the base 4Runners came with non powered masts.

I guess I'll just have to message the guy and go take a look. Can't be worse than paying the price at the local dealer for the Tacoma setup.

How does one turn a generic fixed antenna mast with a threaded bottom, like from a 2011 Tacoma into something that plugs into the back of a radio?

It kind of looks the same as my 1994 4x4 P/U. I think that when I DO find my Runner, that will be one of the first things I replace. I like the idea of a smaller, flexible antenna. My fixed antenna is now at an angle due to car wash... I am just looking to get rid of superfluous mechanized crap to break and annoy the hell out of me.

I spoke to the guy parting it out and he sent some better pictures. It appears it's a stock assembly. Offered him $10 for it and he was agreeable but found the bracket inside the fender to be rusted, brittle, and breaking when he went to remove it. Bummer, I almost got out really cheap.
