I'm gonna do it!
So after almost a year of debate, and reading numerous threads, I am going to make the move. As soon as the weather warms up a bit, I am going to mostaline the entire rig. I love the way it looks, and I am keeping this baby till she dies (another 100years at least) so I don't have to worry about buyers not liking it. I will post pics when I am done!
This is by far the most frightening and exciting mod I am going to do.

most likely solid black, I have always been a fan of all black (Boring to some people I know). I am ordering 3 gallons, and I am planning on using just slightly more than two, but want the extra just in case.

Can't wait to see this. I am planning on doing the Monstaliner as well, just not sure when. Between emailing them and other research, it looks like 2 gallons would be enough for the exterior. That is if you're going to spray it though.

I don't want to tell you no, or rain on your parade, it is your truck afterall. I think it'll look great when it's done, and I love black trucks, but don't you have a Steller Blue 4Runner? That's kinda a rare color and one of my favorite OEM colors.

And yes I do .....I will admit I started off as hating it with a passion, but as time grew and I started working on my T4R i have come to love it. Unfortunately the paint isn't what it used to be. Its not awful or anything, but the fine fine scratches for wear and tear over time drive me nuts. I have tried to remove them and was unable to. Last fall I spent two days, and did a full compounding, polishing, and waxing job, using mcguiers products. It was nice for about 2 weeks and then the wax started to stop doing its job. I think my clear coat is dwindling which is causing it to get the way it is

I haven't seen the Monstaliner yet, is it textured? I just rolled Als Liner onto my F150s bed cover and it looks great but it's a ***** to get clean. The Als Liner has a vinyl flattener you can add to it to make it lay much flatter, and I'll be doing that for sure when I roll the fiberglass top on my '85.

It is textured, but if you spray it on, the texture is not crazy "grippy". You can make it more textured by rolling it if your prefer. I have herculiner on my rig right now and that I rolled on, holds up great! and cleans pretty easily as well, but it does have a gloss finish which I am not a fan of, I like the monstaliners finish, its more that of a satin matte look

I've used it on my old jeep. That stuff is great. One trick if you want to roll it on is to use a paint roller. Use a thin nap roller, and you won't get the texture.

I think it is a great color too. I've only ever seen one in my area. It's a sport, and I coincidentally saw it while I was getting gas to go on my voyage for my sport hood. I kinda figured the paint may not be in great shape anymore and that's why you want to redo it with something else.

Cant wait to see how this turns out. I also have a Stellar blurple and my clearcoat is failing rapidly which is driving me nuts. I've just dumped a decent amount of cash into the running gear and the engine is still strong. 204k on the clock and I plan on keeping it until one of us dies...I have a feeling I will go before the truck does. Currently no body rust, just chips and nicks. Won't stay that way without a paint solution though.
