3rd Gen Brake Booster/ Master Cylinder Question.
Just a quick little question that may help me to finally get to the bottom of a severe brake problem my 4Runner's had since day one...
I need you guys to go out and pop your hoods and tell me, how many studs come out of your brake booster and hold your master cylinder to it? 2 or 4?
I need as many people as possible to do this just to be sure... Thanks in advance to anybody who'll check for me.

@ UnderFire
sorry for a late to the game reply. My son has been running a fever all day and I haven't been on the forum. I am only seeing two studs and a sort of pivot hook hole in the top left when looking directly at it. Photo attached. Sorry for it being a crappy cell photo, hope this helps!

I've got two as well, see the attached pic (sorry if it's not the best, on my phone). I know for a fact that I still have the original booster and master on my truck.

No ABS either, if that matters.

Thanks guys, looks like my master cylinder is the correct one then.
Its strange, I got an OEM booster out of a 97 3rz Tacoma, and when I went to put it in, it had 4 studs on the master cylinder side...
I'm trying to solve a very hard brake pedal that's impossible to bleed in the rear and thought that the non-OEM booster and MC might've been the wrong one, possibly off an 80 series LC with rear discs. Looks like its back to the drawing board.

I have a 80 series master in my FJ62, it has four studs as you may already know. My 2000 runner is a 3rz which has 2 studs and looks just like the V6 model. I can't speak to the booster though, that may be your issue.

Ok, from the couple pictures I saw I thought the 80 Series had 2 bolts. I guess the only thing I'm unclear about now is why the Taco had 4... I'm hoping to go to the junkyard tomorrow and find an OEM 4Runner booster.
