You're Hawaiian. Can't you just bend those bars by hand?

Well at least in the future you know you can build one, being you got all the tools to get it done,

Good work man! How much do you think you spent on it? Im looking at doing something similar, but a basket rather. What kind of metal did you use? Sorry if its in the post, going to read it now

Thanks, really appreciate it! honestly my dad is a fabricator and we just picked the tubing from the tons of metal in our garage, so we didn't spend anything. Just used 3/4" and 1" aluminum, I believe you can get a bunch of that stuff for cheap

I just got my 2000 4runner and was surprised by the two black tracks. I was expecting a channel that thule or whoever make standard feet for. Any idea if this was just some cheap factory option or was a fair amount of hardware removed by the previous owner?

If I move back to the Midwest, I have a buddy who is getting into building bike frames and I may just "steel" this idea and make it out of cro-mo.

The black tracks come standard with 4r's that dont come with the factory roof rack. I know thule and yakima make
feet for the crossmembers, and im pretty sure they install into the gutter outside of the tracks, but I cant say for
sure because I have never used them... they are expensive.
thats cool, simple designs are the best
