damaged CV needle bearing retainer

I was replacing my CV seal and apparently damaged part of the needle bearing retainer. I put the new seal in an put everything back together. It sat over night and I didn't see any leaking. Drove it to work and haven't had a chance to check it again.

Anyone know the effects this will cause?

If leaking is a concern I wouldn't sweat it. I forget, are the needles nested in a plastic ring that spaces them evenly?

Not just leaking, but any damage to the CV or diff is a concern. Not sure about your question.

There seems to be a lip still holding the needles in place? If so I'd run it.

I am not a professional. This is just my opinion.

I don't think that's going to cause any issues.

id have to see the axle, does it have a shoulder that hits right there? or does it bottom out just before that?

either way, if it bothers you knowing its there, just changed it. it shouldn't be too difficult.

It looks to me as though the outer edge of the needle bearing assembly is what has been damaged.

If this is your vehicle, run it. If someone is paying you for the repair, replace it!

I've heard from a few people at ecgs that those needle bearings are prone to failure, especially with a front locker.
they recommend to replace it with this.
TOYOTA 7.5" CLAMSHELL CV AXLE BUSHING
Might not be your problem, but just throwing it out there in case you do have to replace the bearing
