Dash Button Question - possible rr diff locker button??

Hi all, my 99 4runner highlander has an empty button slot on the dash next to where the dash light adjustment is. It is obvious there was once a button there so Im thinking the p/o took it out.
Does anyone know if this was a diff locking button? Id be really stoked if I just found out my runner has diff locker. Thanks!

Do you have a multi mode transfer case? It could be your center diff lock if you do (possible if you have a limited)

Get under the truck and look at the rear diff. Post a pic of you can. Lockers are visible from the drive shaft side.

IIRC, some models came with the harness ready for it, but nothing else.

There are a couple other buttons/indicators that went in the same location, the other one I'm thinking about was the factory security indicator went in that location.

I think you do have a rear locker... Didn't most highlander 4wd 4runners come with it? Strange, maybe the rear axle is from a different model 4runner.

well it looks like they probably just removed the panel to see what was behind there.
