So I had a little bump that put this back on my radar.
Good luck for you guys...
Software updates or some other changes no longer limit my ability to compress the files. I've zipped all the files I have and uploaded them to my Google Drive. Here's the link.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...3c?usp=sharing
The files titled "Complete" are arranged as they were on the website. Each major system has a folder.
The files titled "Printable" are arranged as if you were reading them in a hard copy FSM.
Once you get use to the layout, it's generally easier to find things on a computer using the "Complete" layout.
I've never shared files this way before so someone please let me know if the link is working properly.
One other side note. The FSM is probably very similar between the '96-'02 4Runners, but I know for a fact that the Electrical Wiring Diagrams have differences. Again, these files are specifically for the 2000 model.

Thanks for that. As they are zipped, the only way I know to use them is download and unzip them. I have the '02, but it is very nice to have the '00, which is virtually the same as my '99, and includes stuff the '02 does not, such as 5-speed stuff and 4-cyl stuff that did not exist in '02. I have my '99 on paper, but files are great for the road.
Also, VERY cool to have the collision manual, which I have never seen. I bet that would have been useful last summer when I did my frame swap.
So thanks very much.
But we still have no substitute for the recently deceased tacomasite, which was a linkable website indexed by chapter. Actually a copy of the old NCTTORA site.

It's a shame that TechInfo/Toyota wised up and stopped allowing you to just "download as pdf" lol... I paid for the subscription and made it about 2 chapters through the GX manual before I lost interest. So basically I have the "how to use this" downloaded =p

@ bennett707
Download this FSM. I've never seen a 2000 version.. Much more applicable to your 99 than the commonly found 01-02 floating around

Awwww man. The wiring stuff is there, I didn't check the repair manual. The wayback machine did archive that stuff on Dec 30, 2016 and you can get to it through the history if you know exactly what you are looking for. Somebody might have to go through the pain of downloading it all. :/

Zipping was the only way to upload them that made sense. If they weren't zipped I would have had to upload every single file individually.

You can still download the older stuff as pdf right? When I downloaded these I tried to download the manual for my BRZ (FR-S, Toyota 86, etc.) and all the files were html. That was pretty aggravating. I couldn't figure out a way to do anything with them.
So the files I uploaded work, right? You will have to use a computer to download and unzip them as far as I know.

You're right, the EWD is all there. As long as it lasts, it will do for my electrical fun and games with
@ IBallEngineer
.
My apologies. Bookmarked.

OK, I found this URL:
Wayback Machine
This will take you to a list of 315 chapter URLs and that takes you to a calendar where, if you find a blue dot, you can get to the .pdf and download it.
I did download the entire EWD for my collection, but 315 of these repair chapters is a bit much for a model I don't own. Also I would have to build a usable index as these URLs are arcane. I can find what I need, but I bet most who don't know the FSM can't.
Is there an easier way? I am no Wayback expert.

I downloaded the big zip file and extracted the 5 zip files in it.
Looks good so far.
Thank you!

Its just the Internet Archive / Wayback Machine. Go to the main site, enter in a website address you want to see from some time back and hit go... Check out google from back in the day for fun!

If you be patient. You can find a used book on eBay or Craigslist. Like I said I got a book for $50!!!!
