What is the safest way to remove adhesive mirror from side view mirror?

The PO put this on in the name of "safety", but for me, it's in the worst possible location for making sure lanes are clear.

Hair Dryer on hot directly on the adhesive. Pull off. Whatever is left use a citrus goo remover or scrape it off with a razor blade flat against the glass surface.

OK.. Did a Google search. Someone said to give dental floss a try.

1.) Put floss between object you desire to remove and the object that its attached to.

2.) Floss back and forth between the two.

3.) Freedom.

I suggest Johnson & Johnson Mint Waxed.

4.) Use goo-gone liberally over any adhesive left behind.

5.) Use a straight razor to remove as much adhesive as you can.

6.) Remove the rest of the residue with a shop rag.
