Wheel Stud Issue!!

This past weekend I replaced my brakes and rotors on my 96 4Runner. When i purchased the vehicle it came with after-market rims. Well I came to realize that the lug nutz were only being tightened up to 3-threads on all studs in the front due to the after market wheels being bigger than factory. I went to every store to get longer studs but it was impossible to get help from any of those morons. Everyone said they couldn't find anything in their system nor did they offer to go to the back and compare. I was pressed on time and i couldn't hold off for another day..

We dreaded going to autozone since they have a rep to screw up constantly but we went anyways. Well we found THE ONLY GUY THERE THAT TOOK 5 MIN IN THE BACK COMPARING MY OLD STUD WITH ONE THAT WOULD WORK. We were only able to purchase 6 so we replaced every other stud on both ends.

It wasn't much longer and the head diameter was a little bigger than factory but we banged it in pretty flush in the hub. So now the lug nut covered about 6-7 threads on the stud instead of 3 like before..

What is your opinion on the amount of threads being locked into the lug nut??

6 threads? As in it the nut turns 6 turns before snug?

No way in hell I'd run that on a road. And definitely not three threads. I'd be buying some new rims or looking into machining the ones you've got...
