need help removing 96 4runner air elbow

while i was jacking wiht the air elbow thats in my fender so i can do the mod i kinda f'd up meaning i cant get the elbow out from the fender what can i do plz help thanks

Not sure if there are any differences, but I just did this mod this past weekend on my '02 T4R. Took me less than an hour. Are you forgetting to remove the bolt that's hidden in the fender wall that holds the other piece in? You have to remove a few of those plastic clips and then peel back the plastic liner to access this bolt. Once removed, I pulled the remaining part of the elbow out through the same inlet. i'm sure you already unbolt some of the pieces from the elbow INSIDE the engine bay already. to remove the rest of the elbow, i took out my fender, then the plastic piece. after that, i just yank the elbow out while bending the plastic piece a little bit. just be careful not to tear the plastic piece. you could bend it since you could bend it back to that right spot.
