Yeah that's not rust. I wouldn't worry about that at all and you could just sand it down and paint if you're worried.

That's "rust free" up here in Canada, you should see what sells quickly for $6500 up here.
Buy it

That's not bad. My frame has more surface rust but my gas tank skid is in better shape. Put a wire brush to those welds & POR 15 it. Buy it!

$6500 is fair price. Truck seems to be in good shape and looks sharp. If I were you, I would buy it. Just make sure you run carfax.

I ran a carfax on it and it's a one owner 4runner that was traded in. It looks to have an a new radiator but they have no idea if the timing belt and water pump has been replaced.

There will usually be a sticker under the hood with the mileage and date on it. Look around on the fan shroud and timing belt cover.
If there's nothing there then I'd proceed as if it need to have it done. It's a nice looking truck though. That price would be pretty fair where I live.

Ya there is no sticker on the cover. There is also a 5 speed locally but I think I'm turning in to an old man because driving a manual isn't as exciting as it used to be.

Not bad at all , That would be a great looking frame in Michigan. Wire brush , neutralize rust then paint.

I want to cry everytime I look at my rust bucket thats sat on the beach for the last 4 years, and probably doesn't compare to you folks that live where there's actually "weather"!
those of you that live in the salty coastal regions, do car covers provide any worthwhile protection, or is the underside just doomed?

I want to cry every time I see what people are paying for 3rd gen's and what I traded my exceptionally pristine 2002 in for. LOL
