I wished I had it from day one but it's just not the story. But I know they paid a pretty penny fpr her off the window sticker and the extra for the still on the truck tint. I look forward to reading all the stories.I look forward to all the stories.

Monroe NY Brings back memories
Thanks for the memories
@ Scramble
Grew up in Rockland County and used to go deer hunting in the Catskills and fishing in Phonecia at the Esopis Reservoir. Went back to New Paltz last summer to visit family on my way up and over to MIT for my son. So hey, keep that rust off your frame!! Cheers BTW Jealous of your low mileage.

Cool, I grew up in Queens. Lived on L.I. for 10 years & bought my house here in Monroe 8 years ago. Been camping in the Catskills since I was 5yo, up Rt17 by Roscoe.

I purchased my 2001 from my local Akron dealer in May of 2001, traded my '94 4Runner for it. I was young when I bought it, so it was titled in my aunt's name who I was living with at the time in order to keep the insurance down. We never bothered to change it over until just recently because it seemed like it wasn't really necessary and frankly, I just never thought about it. So unfortunately it doesn't *show* me as the first owner, but I bought it and I have always been the only driver. Really, other than the dealer I've only let one or two people drive it.
I put 30k on in the first year but cut down significantly after that, and it's been babied and been mostly a weekend driver since 2007 when I started keeping a second car. I'm going back to it as my sole vehicle in December so I can pay off some things and do a little saving for (I think) a new Taco with the 6MT. I wheeled a bit in her early days, but not too much in the last several years. I do some wilderness backpacking, biking and snowboarding so I love the capability but I don't really need any hardcore off-road mods. It has a leather that was added when I bought it, a cold air intake, Addco front sway bar with the Energy Suspension bushings and some slightly bigger 265/75 tires. I've done some smaller useless things like disconnecting the DRLs, wiring in LEDs in the interior and adding an aux jack that doesn't work. I'll probably start doing a little more now that I'm going to be driving it every day and since I'll have a little extra money from one less vehicle.
I joined Yota-Tech shortly after it started (I forget which forum it branched off of/revolted from) and more recently this forum, but I don't generally post anything. The people on both forums have been so awesome with problem solving and inspiration big and small. This is a really awesome community. Thanks to everyone!
Still sexy after all of these years.
The early days, mudding with my friend in his Tundra. Taken with what was probably a 1MP cell phone potato camera.

I just recently found some of my documentation and a photo of a much younger me... as i rolled my 97 off the lot. once i get it all sorted i'll post it up. The photo could use some "freshening up" it was from a Poloroid _no fooling at the time thats what the salesman did.

Bought our SR5 with leather new in Dec.'98 at Superstition Springs Toyota here in Mesa. Ordered it directly from Japan with the 5 spd. and locker. Only thing we didn't get that we wanted was the sunroof....and I'm kinda glad we didn't get it now having read about leaks. Have a pic of it the day we brought it home somewhere. Not sure where any of the documentation is.....

Don't have any doc. as its at another house, but parents leased it in 99 from Molle Toyota, and bought it at the end of the lease. Currently has just over 332K. The only thing I have access to is the owners website where the earliest service was in 06.

That's awesome your folks passed it down to you. Keep up with all the maintenance and it will stay in the family for a very long time. Just getting broken in at 332K.

That's the plan, I try to get everything done at Toyota because I am immensely car illiterate, and I don't really have time to tinker with it. That being said, I am going to try to get more into it, but now with winter coming in I don't really want to mess with it till spring!

I need to get to work on using lightroom for that photo. I have most of the paper works. I think i should be able to either scan or just shoot a photo then post. Not sure what would come up better.
