I hit the jackpot. I was wanting a 2WD and 4WD bezel and preferably one in each of the two colors. The "oak" tan and the gray. I found all of it. It wasn't until my 4th pick a part yard but I did finally find what I need. That will allow me to make the final fitment changes and get a prototype made and pics posted. I hope to have a dialed in print by early next week. The finished product will be a two color black on factory color. Just like my 80 series cup holders. The big challenge now is to see if I can get a double cup holder mounted WITH full movement of the passenger seat. If not, I will create a single cup holder with cell/wallet tray for the folks that want full movement of the seat and a double for the folks that don't care about full movement of the seat. I will also have to develop a single and double for both the 2WD and 4WD options since the lines are VERY different.

I didn't realize until I was in the junkyard removing the center console that the lower piece was actually 2 separate pieces. There is the driver side, passenger side, then the top black bezel. 3 pieces total. I then needed the 3 pieces off the other gen 3 for 6 total pieces to give me the auto and manual trans set up. At least now I have everything I need and can get the design side of this wrapped up.

The scarry part about the tan one was that is was splattered in blood. It came out of a 98 that had been wrecked. Looked like he hit a brick wall going about 80mph. The driver seat was pushed back into the back seat and there was blood all over the interior. I wanted to find another tan one but could not find another gen 3 anywhere in the yard so I had to go back and take this one. I soaked it in disinfectant the moment I got home. Sucks to be the driver of that T4R.

I was in the junkyard today and looking for something to send you. Glad to see you found what you needed.

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

Good news. I just realized that the "oak" tan and dark gray arethe exact same Oak and gray that are on the 80 series. That means I already have an exact factory match to the Oak and a really close match to the dark gray. I do have a question. I'm sitting at my computer right now pulling dimensions off of these two consoles and it dawned on me that I don't know which of these is most common. Do most of you have the 2WD or 4WD? I will try to get the more popular one out the quickest. I am also realizing that there is WAY less realestate on the 4Runner console then compared to the 80 series console. I will be able to do what I want but this cup holder will have a ton of curves underneath to follow all the curves of the console. I need to keep is a low, tight, and towards the center as possible to allow for most amount of functional space while allowing the passenger seat to have full movement. This is definitely going to be a challenge but doable.

I think most of us have 4wd.

That is what I figured. I will get the 4WD one done first. That is definitely the harder one since there is way less realestate to work with.

Alright guys; I have been working hard at coming up with a highly functional double cup holder for the 2WD and 4WD 3rd gen 4Runner. I wanted something that could hold more then just two cups. My design can also hold 2 phones and 2 pens. There are quite a few changes within each design to make sure they fit the specific 2WD or 4WD bezel but the overall function is still the same. I also wanted to make sure I cleared the shifter and movement of the passenger seat. I know I am VERY close on my sizes so I need to find a 3rd gen local to me to make the final fitment changes. I prototype in white so I can take a sharpie marker to them in the areas that need changes. It also allows me to see the flaws and fitment issues better. The final product will be in the factory gray or tan with black insert. There are 3 sizes to the cup holders. The largest is with the rear insert removed. That will allow for a Nalgene bottle. I made it that size for that specific function. Most OEM and aftermarket cup holders can't handle something that large. When the insert is installed then the cup holder can hold the large 32oz and 44oz. fast food cups quite well. The closer insert is a tad smaller. It will hold a soda can, grocery store water bottle, and those tall skinny travel mugs really well. You can still fit any size fast food drink in it since it has a taper. The large cups will just not seat all the way to the bottom like the can and bottle will. I also added a 1/4" notch to allow the driver to set a phone in the closer cup holder. I made it wide enough to hold an iphone 6 plus. It will be a snug fit and if you have a fat case on that huge 6plus then it probably wont fit. 99% of phones on the market will fit in either phone slot even if it has a fat case. The 2nd phone slot is down along the passenger side. that is if you have a passenger and you both have a drink. That still gives you a place for your phone. I did my best to make this as functional as possible and use as little space as possible. There are still many changes that need to be made before I have perfect fitment with no clearance issues, but you guys can at least see where I am heading with this.

Here is a pic of my S5 with thick case in the other cell phone spot. A larger phone could definitely fit. Feel free to give feedback. I am open ears on your thoughts.

Do you have a pic of that console bezel? I want to see if one of my 2 current designs will work with it or if I need to create a 3rd design. Also, do you know if there was a 2WD manual option and if that was a 4th bezel option? In post 43 of this thread a member posted a diagram showing 3 bezel options but it looks like the manual option is for a 2WD and not a 4WD. I definitely need to know with 100% certainty what all the bezel options are and make sure I have one for each option. If I need to create two more designs then whoever loans me there bezel will get a free cup holder shipped back with it. I don't need the gray/tan part underneath since I already have that. I just need the black piece that goes around the shifters.

This is looking awesome. Love the adjustable size, my wife's Altima has that and it's great. Essentially has 3 different cup holder sizes if you take the insert out and we can fit anything in there.

What are you thinking of charging? If it's cheap enough I might abandon my own cup holder project.

Just a note, the autos have another piece for the shifter that has the P-R-N-D-2-1 that comes out of that thinner slot. Its raised and has an arc shape, higher in the center of the arc. I mention this since I can see you cup holder partially covers opening.

I don't have measurements on me right now, but it does protrude up higher than the console. You can't see it too well on this picture, but it is raised.
