Key FOB Programming Help!

Greetings!
I purchased a 2002 LTD 4WD with 135K on the ODO. After two weeks of rebuilding the front end and cutting the warped rotors I am looking to tackle a few smaller issues.
The Key FOB does not work, yes fresh new battery installed. I cannot get the truck into programming mode, I have tried all the ones on the forums and youtube...wonder if they had cameras taping me opening and closing the drivers door and cycling the locks to no avail!
Anywho...the power locks do work to lock and unlock all the doors whether it is from the switch inside or the key in the door lock.
I saw one forum post that had a "Black Box" under the drivers' seat that you used a pen to press a small recessed button...nothing under my seat except the power motor and wiring...
Any help is greatly appreciated!

Just use your hand to move up and down the driver knob next to the window seal. You do this along with the steps of hitting the automatic lock. It's just the motor for some reason is weak and cannot cycle the locks during the programming faze, but can during normal operation. By helping the locks move up and down it fools the sensor that it is working normal and allows you to program it.

Thanks MH!
It seems to have worked somewhat. I also tried the other key that came with the Runner. The other key along with making sure the locks cycled fully up and down got me into "Programming Mode," however after many many tries it will not take my FOB. The lock/unlock buttons hold for three seconds works and the locks cycle when I press lock within three seconds...then I get the dreaded two lock/unlock cycles indicating it didn't take. Might be time for a new FOB!
Thanks again, at least I know the system works...

Even though I had done this about 10X, when I got my new (to Me) truck, I ran through the programming and it wouldn't take. My mistake was that I was holding the Lock and Unlock buttons down too long. I held it maybe 2 seconds then immediately pressed the lock button and it took.

Works like a champ!

Thanx guys! I was holding the buttons too long. Redid it and only held the FOB lock/unlock for a sec and now it is fully functional!
Awesome...love this forum.

This is what worked for me. My locks were getting weak after the first round of lock unlock so i started using the buttons and moving the lock lever up and down at the same time.
Thanks!!!
