I tried the whole thing again on a different lap top. Same thing happened. Could my aic be bad? I'm going to try a different cord if I can find one local. Best buy has a 1' one, lol.

Sweet, just bought a used 4th gen supercharger and 7th injector. The info on the supercharger thread gets more confusing by the day it seems. Looking forward to this.

I did another test today. This time I supplied no power to the truck (no key in ignition) and tried to connect to the AIC. The R4 program again did the same countdown and gave me the same error message telling me to check the connection or power. I'm thinking maybe my AIC is not getting power. What wires would I check for power to the AIC?

Go back to the installation instructions and see what one is a 12v power supply. Mont of the wires you installed or tapped into are signal wires for sensors.
On a side note, do you have a afr gauge? Is your 7th spraying? If it is then you will have power to the AIC

He does, but the afr wont tell him anything most likely since at wot the AFR's should be good and the midrange could just be out of tune...

No,
I'm trying to see if his injector is spraying. If not than it might lead to why he can not connect to the AIC.

yep and I am telling you it won't tell you anything unless his tune is setup right. The AIC could be working fine, but the injector might be setup to spray at 24 psia which means he may never see it. If his rig is anything like the others that I have seen, he will be right around 11.7-12 AFR even if it isn't spraying at wot.

Which would be the power source. If the AIC was not powered then I'm sure the 7th woukd not be powered either as the 7th injector gets its power from the AIC...

Make sure you downloaded the driver for the cable. That's the problem I had and was exactly what you were saying. The cable should have come with a disk

I had the same problem when I first set mine up, laptop wouldn't connect. What fixed it for me was rolling back my serial driver to a prolific driver that was much older than the newer version. This is one of those cases where keeping drivers up to date makes stuff not work. Search the web for prolific serial drivers and keep trying til you find one that works, guarantee it does.
