rear driveshaft zerks

I am trying to lube the rear driveshaft. Is there supposed to be a zerk here? It looks like it has a tack weld at the top.

Nope. Believe they use the same yokes and ones that need zerks get them and others get a plug. there should be one on each u-joint and one for each slip joint.

???? Sorry to burst your bubble, but there is definitely supposed to be a zerk there. Top picture out of the FSM. Looks like it's been sheared off.

Sorry If I mislead you. My slip joint has it's own zerk that is not on the yoke.

One thing to note, with your lift, you should have gotten a replacement hex nut for this particular zerk. It is a known issue with lifting these trucks that this zerk can get sheared off by the gas tank skid.

^^^ What he said exactly. The good news is an easy-out will remove that, well, easily. I've replaced mine too many times to count. Am going to put a hex bolt in after I lube it next time.
