3rd gen Pelfreybilt bumper
Hey guys,
I've always loved the style and clean bumpers Tyler from Pelfreybilt mock up so I decided to contact him and get some info about maybe starting a 3rd gen bumper line up. This is the response I got.
Socalduckslayer (his tacomaworld SN):
Hi Rob,
Appreciate the kind words. Any chance you are local to So-Cal?
We are pretty inundated right now with the 5th gen 4Runner, 3rd gen tundra and 3rd gen taco around the corner but I would love to add a 3rd gen runner to the lineup. I expect it to not be horribly different than the 4th gen runner so there's a good chance the adaptation would be somewhat painless.
It looks like he's more than willing to set something up but he would need a local to get measurements. If anyone is willing to be guinea pig then let me know so we can possibly get another option for bumpers!
His work can be found at pelfreybilt off-road
Here's a pic of a 2nd gen Tacoma bumper.

Already bought a Shrockworks, but I am definitely interested in seeing if this happens. I've always been a huge fan of Pelfreybilt's work!

The 1st Gen Tacoma bumper will fit a 3rd Gen with slight modification to the frame. He should know that the 3rd Gen bumper is no where close to the same as the 4th Gen. You're best comparison would be a 1st Gen Tacoma, and have him modify that for the 3rd gen.

That's what I was thinking but he doesn't make them for the 1st gen tacos.

Shoot I would be down for this. Kind of a drive but I have an unmolested front end to work from.

I would but it's really bad timing. I have no break in training till the holidays and I'm moving during those. I have no idea whether I am staying in cali or whether they will move me somewhere else.

Send him to Oklahoma and I'll be his Huckleberry. I love that bumper in the original post.

pretty much any flat top bumper is compatible with our trucks, the mount just needs to be changed

You need to cut 3" off the frame in order to make them work. The Tacoma bumpers don't have a deep enough lip, and you'll have 3" gap otherwise.
At least that's how the All Pro bumper is.
