Valve Cover Leak

Based on what I've seen it looks like my valve cover is leaking a bit (175k, so no big surprise, I guess). I did notice what looks to be leaking at the PCV(?) valve also. Does this suggest that there's blow-by from a cylinder or two causing pressure and leaking? Or maybe a PCV valve problem is part of the cause...

One picture is the PCV, the other is the spark plugs with 55k on them (probably should have done sooner).

That looks pretty normal. You'll want to get a new PCV valve, grommet and hose.

I wouldn't think that there is any excessive blow by, just normal PCV operation and old/cracked rubber parts.

Cool, thanks, I'll do that. Found this too, which is probably one of the hoses you mentioned.

If you decide to replace your valve cover gaskets, @infamousRNR and I have a video you can use as a guide to get the job done.

I have to ask how dirty is your throttle body/IAC? Change that PCV ASAP!

I used this video as reference along with pertinent FSM pages. Was a huge help! Love not smelling oil burning anymore. I bought the ISHINO kit off amazon cause it comes with All the seals.

I will be using your LCA bushing replacement video next. White lines read to go!

That hose goes to the driver's side head (no valve on that one). So, maybe a little more blowby than you want, or the stock PCV valve is blocked. That hose should be a two-way street, depending on engine operating mode (sometimes it is a fresh air inlet to clear the crankcase, sometimes it is a vent to let out extra blow-by, depending on throttle position, etc.). Make sure the hoses are in good shape, clean it up, replace the PCV valve and see where it goes from there.
