Ordered the cheaper Toyota factory radiator ($112). Needed some other parts as well so just added it to order. I'll be the guinea pig on this deal an see what shows up. Plus I'll have local warranty if it takes a dump.

Parts guy said the manufacturer was Toyota. Made by someone else I'm sure. He said made in USA to compete with lower priced aftermarket units. Who knows what will show up.

Will be interesting to see if its really just a Denso. FWIW, I bought a Koyo about a year ago from amazon and it came in a box stamped TYC. That thing was a piece of garbage. The mounting holes didnt even line up so I was forced to literally use bailing wire to secure the bottom right and top left holes. So ghetto. I figured if they couldnt get that right, who knew what else the didnt do correctly. So after a few months I couldnt take it anymore and ordered a Denso. Perfect fit and the radiator body was about a half inch thicker. I sleep well at night now. I know a lot of the guys on here stand by the Koyo radiators but I think they've gone to crap since the sourced to TYC.

Denso or OEM is the only way to go IMO.

I decided to order the Denso unit from RockAuto. It was only $90 + $20 shipping (not too bad since I got a bunch of other crap shipped for that $20).

The radiator was very well packed in a double-walled, oversized box. No damage except for a few fins needing to be straightened due to handling. I know some folks have had problems with how Amazon packs these Denso radiator -- no issues with RockAuto.

Denso Radiator # W0133-1895498

Two weeks ago the top cap of my radiator cracked and puked out coolant so rather then buying the lowest price product I researched the numerous threads on this topic here and looked at Dendo, KOYO & OEM. I ended up calling Olathe Toyota they offered 2 choices the first was a Denso packaged in a Toyota box priced at $122.36 part # 16410-AZ011. The other was supposedly the exact product when my truck rolled of the line part # 16400-75181 priced at $331.85.Anyhow the guy on the line said that these radiators are made by Denso so I then looked at the different on-line vendors to see which Denso matched up to the Toyota parts #s, so I couldnt get an exact match but I found out Denso # 221-0508 ($96.98) about as close to Toyota # 16410-AZ001 and Denso # W0133-1895498 ($136.48)according to parts geek is the direct OEM product. So I ended up buying the more expensive radiator. I installed today it was well packaged unlike the horror stories I read from guys that buy Denso from Amazon no fin damaged and most important it weighed about 5lbs more than the original radiator. I went in w/o any issues the nut were welded and the caps seem more beefy.

Thanks man, but I never heard about neither the aluminum radiator nor the brand. Don't feel very confident considering.
I'm looking to go the OEM way, basically.

Your call of course. I just replaced mine....probably posted earlier in the thread. I was in a hurry, but had I known this was available....no brainer for me. Best of luck...if you want OEM...Camelback or others have the best prices.

What makes this specific aluminum one superior to the OEM in your opinion?

I was looking at this one too, should be the actual one that came in the truck: https://www.amazon.com/Genuine-Toyot...5J5W74CED16B4Y

ALL ALUMINUM!! LOL....I have been around radiators from small single piston engines to heavy equipment. Never seen a radiator blown up like the Toyota cheap plastic. I know lots and lots of plastic radiators in use...does not make them better...makes them cheaper. Another reason...show me a professional race team...any pro race team....that runs OEM radiators on their water cooled engines. Now...will OEM work...absolutely...is there better I believe so. I am a poster child for the get it down quick crowd...hense I put a Denso in from Amazon a couple months ago. Why??? because I was freaked out and not thinking clearly....worried I needed a entire new motor and was running around like an idiot.

I went the Amazon.com Denso route.....not great packing but arrived in good shape. I feel like I remember that many years ago Koyo was a cheap alternative to a quality radiator? I've since learned that Koyorad has a great rep and would not hesitate buying one in the future. The Denso was a few bucks cheaper and Amazon is easy to return if needed.

Thanks for your input, I will research this radiator then. I'm good at a lot of things, and bad at a lot of others, but mechanics is something I really have no ****ing clue about.

OEM Radiator Replacement at Dealership

99' Limited 4WD 3.4L w/ 138k

Today while getting my state inspection renewed, the technician at the local dealership said he was concerned with the condition of my radiator and coolant. Said the radiator had some internal corrosion and coolant looked "gunky" and "sludgy". It looked alright to me, but the tech said the condition is somewhat typical for an 18 year old radiator and older coolant. He confirmed it wasn't the pink milkshake syndrome (thank god).

They quoted me $430 for the radiator (installed) and $160 for the coolant flush.
I could definitely do the work myself but my workload at the office is too high to find the time right now. Spend money to make money I guess.

I confirmed that the new radiator is 16400-75181 ($350) and not the less expensive 16410-AZ011 ($125).
