I wouldn't. Have them ship you a new one and tell them to package it better.

The box said made in Taiwan as well...is this the usual spot for the Denso 221-0508 Radiator?

That particular one, yes
Check on Camelback. They have the factory denso on sale right now.
I got the same Amazon Denso radiator, no issues after about 2,500 miles

This is exactly what happened to me. I contacted the seller and got a full refund and didn't have to ship it back. I tapped the hole and put a fitting in it and it worked for a while but started to slowly weep. That denso also didn't fit quite right as mentioned in another thread recently. I had to use the brackets off the radiator to make it work. Eventually got another radiator from Camelback. Fit like a glove and well boxed.
That new price at Camelback though should settle the debate on what radiator to get as long as your not in a pinch.

The refund option shows that I still need to return the broken one - how did you not have to return it?

I don't know, even if it's OEM Toyota you can't assume it's manufactured in Japan.

Ok that's lucky. I bought mine through Amazon.com and they want me to return it. I will give them a call because returning it means 2hours and a trip across the border.

The Denso on (Amazon Part #221-0508) is made in Taiwan.
I can't speak for durability, but I got mine in yesterday and all bracket holes lined up (not perfect, but definitely close enough to get all screws in) and shipped fairly well. No damage to my unit upon arrival. I don't have any complaints as of yet and will let you guys know if/when I do!!

I spoke to Amazon customer service and they agreed to refund me without returning the item. I will take it to the recyclers this week.

You may have to do some minor mods to get the Champion to fit, and I'm pretty sure it is made in China.
Having said that, I really like mine. It cools my truck very well in 120* temps.

@ Rimcrew
didn't really do anything other thank spacer for the shroud and longer screws. Surprisingly it was really simple. What did you have to do?

I had to make the spacers, but I also had to elongate the holes in the core support where the bolts go through. Not a lot, but enough that I wouldn't call it a drop-in installation...
Glad yours went in more easily. I guess that's the cost of stuff made in China - specs are subject to interpretation...
