Took my doors off Now windows wont roll down

Hey guys,

I took my front doors off today. I put them back on and connected the two plugs under each side of the kick panel and my window switches still wont work. I have power to the drive door but can not roll down the rear or passenger windows with either their door controls or the driver side door controls. The rear window wont roll down either but will with the remote and key...

I know this has to be an easy fix, fuse? Something!

Any help would be appreciated.

If the driver's side panel doesn't work, none of them work. Start there.

Ha-ha on another car I had when I put speakers in I did that. Spent 2 hours troubleshooting it before I figured it out. I felt pretty dumb.

I havent had time to try to reinstall the front doors but when i plugged both doors back in to try the windows the only one that worked from the drivers side control was the drivers window and nothing else... Maybe since I only plugged the doors in and didnt bolt im missing a ground screw?

I don't think so. The only ground points in the power window system are on the truck, not the doors. What you describe is EXACTLY what happens when the child safety lock button is engaged.

Hmm... that's odd. There might be a door switch or something interfering, or a ground like you mentioned. I know all wiring goes through the driver's panel then out to each window. Maybe put it all back together except for pushing the panels on (you could hook up all the switches but don't press the panels back on the door) and see if that makes a difference. I had all my panels off a few months back but only had them off one at a time so maybe the wiring is more complicated.

Yep. I learned this the hard way on my 2nd gen. The rear window wouldn't roll down, it was snowing outside, and I had a load of parts I need to ship immediately that wouldn't fit in the back seat. I crawled back there and started troubleshooting it only to find out an hour late that it was the stupid child lock button.

Does the child lock prevent the back window from rolling down to? I didnt think so but maybe it does. The rear window wouldnt roll down either. Im starting to think it is the child safety and hoping it is haha. Going to install the doors after work today and will update you all then.

Yes, it locks out all windows except the drivers, including the liftgate. It has to be that.
