Came across this gif while browsing Reddit. Instantly took note of the 3rd gen when I saw it.

Dude, you gotta NSFW that kind of stuff man, almost lost my lunch --gratuitous 4runner violence. RIP, brb pouring 40oz of 87 octane on the curb for a fallen brother.
Edit: That white car spontaneously rupturing into flames...

Judging by the flames in the cabin, and the driver not exiting, I don't think they made it out. If they did though, I wonder if they're looking to sell their hood scoop insert.

At least it landed on its feet and the wipers still worked.

Don't know if it is, but it wouldn't surprise me one bit. I think we're in the running for red light running capital of the world. okay, not that bad, but still scary enough. I wait to go until I see the oncoming traffic stopping. I get honked at a lot for not gunning it immediately when the light turns green. Whatever! I don't feel like having t-bone for breakfast...

I know the clip is short so you don't see what happens in the next few seconds, but did anyone else notice that NO ONE ran up to any of the vehicles involved to try to help those involved in the accident? I mean if you saw an accident like that wouldn't you're first instinct be to run up and see if the people are alive and if there's anything you can do to help. The two individuals walking toward the top of the clip just continue on their merry way. ???

Looks like the 4Runner started to catch fire at the very end of the gif too.

I saw a wreck not quite as severe as this the other day, but the worst wreck I've ever actually seen happen right in front of me. The first thing I did was pull over and call 911, and then go up to the cars and see if they were OK. The paramedics would be of more use in a situation with injuries and getting people out than me.

You would think, right?!
Heading back home after a spring break camping trip at the Oregon coast, on HWY 26 a two lane no center divide mountain RD. we had been stopped by traffic about four miles in. Instantly knowing this wasn't normal, me and two buddies pull over and start running toward the cause of the traffic. About 2 miles up we get to a gruesome scene of a 4 car head on accident. Now it took us about 10-15 minutes to run in flip flops all the way up there (a win for me however you cut it!) and when we got there about 20-30 people were just standing around gossiping about who did what and how!! I mean WTF!!! Instantly we start yelling commands and peoples glazed over eyes started popping back to life and listening. About, 10 minutes later volunteer FF/EMS came on scene, we gave our vitals and sadly death list to them and walked off back to go another way home.
Sense then we now have cameras on our phones, and I've always been amazed and downright disgusted with those that stand around and video an accident instead of jumping in and helping, if only to comfort those and tell them help is on the way, which many of times is all I can do...

Lol awesome, so about 3 feet from my house. 7th st in general is a gamble to drive on, if you're right it wouldn't surprise me at all.
Rewatched it a few times, it looks like it's on the south-east corner of that intersection. However, I don't see the suicide lane sign hanging from the lights, and I don't see the big stone sign out front of the apartments on the north-west corner. Hmmm...

How is there fire in the cabin of the 4Runner? I could buy the fire on the white car due to a ruptured fuel line and the guy sprinting away makes it believable, but what is going to burn like that behind the fire wall?
I wonder if that was shopped.

Was... was that the wheel that came flying off so violently?!

I wondered that too. On closer inspection though, it appears to be either reflection of the flames from the other car on fire, or possibly some type of error or artifact of the video quality. If you look closely before the Runner comes to a stop, the front grill/bumper area also begin flashing/flickering as if on fire. Then as the truck comes to rest, it transfers up to the window.
But I'm just guessing...
