Product Review: Armor All

I'm sure you've either seen this, or used it yourself. I have tried this product and I can personally say that in my experience the product is not worth the investment. My reasons are quite simple. The gel, the applicator, and the aftermath.

The applicator works, but with any type of tire that has a meaty thread, the applicator begins to rip, fall apart, and fail. The gel is thick and spreads ok, but again it is very, very thick and requires a few passes for a unified coat. The shine is very bright, as with many Armorall products but the aftermath is the straw that breaks the camel's back.
The gel stays on your car for a long period of time. I applied it to my tire about a month ago and the stuff does not come off. I can literally use my fingernail and scrape a thick, black layer of tar off of my tire. I've used brushes that then become clogged with the stuff, and every cleaner short of Tar Remover to get this off and it is still on my tires. It is dirty, clumpy, and is now starting to splater off on my rims, bumper and doors.

Some of you may have had used this product before with success, but I do not recommend it at all. I do however have had success with Armor All's "Low Shine Protectant." It is a nice dull finish that isn't super wet looking. That product I would recommend.

Keep an eye out fellas,

Drew

Re: Product Review: Armor All

Hmm, I use MEGUIAR'S "HIGH GLOSS" Endurance.

This stuff is awesome and lasts WEEKS! Even throught the rain! Seems like the same idea as the stuff you tried. It's a Gel that you wipe on...

Thumbs down

yea i HATED the armor all gel, i used it on one of my tires and threw it away, biggest waste of money, and if you have white letters out on your tires, it smears whatevers on your tires onto the lettering.

deffinite thumbs down

I've been using the Meguire's Endurance gel for a few years now and the stuff lasts longer than any other's I've tried and it holds up even to a few rainstorms.
