Timing belt/water pump

Water pump is leaking. Bad. Is there a chance I could just torque the bolts down to see if it helps/stops? It's only had 30k miles since the timing belt was done.

If not, has anyone used the rockauto tb/wp kit?

You can see if they are loose, who did the service 30k miles ago? Was there a warranty?

That kit is good. I didn't look at the price, but the brands are solid. Same stuff i just used on my truck. Friend of mine is an ASE mechanic and uses only that site to order stuff outside of work.

Aisin is the way to go. You mention 30k miles ago the tb was replaced, was the wp replaced also? Being in the automotive field i've seen people that replaced the tb and not the wp. I replaced my wp on my 4runner with a paper style wp gasket, it was in the tb kit so i used it, shortly after installation the wp started leaking. Then i replaced it with the metal style gasket as pictured in your link with the Aisin kit. If your wp was replaced with the tb do you know what type of wp gasket was used?

Good point.

Especially at the level a water pump job is on the 3.4, I'd not skimp on a gasket. Can't build a house on sand

You want the NSK idler, not the Koyo, since the latter is not as wide as the belt is.

If you have the green, buy this:
