Back in black My 98 3.4 5spd e locker build

I gave up trying to find a manual with elocker so I bought a nice 99 sr5 auto and then this thing popped up. After a brief yelling session with the dragon I drove out and snapped it up off orginal owner. The truck has 150,000 very well maintained miles. The orginal black paint has a few chips here and there so decided to get it repainted. Has 4 coats gloss black , 4 coat clear. Hopefully this weekend I will install my ome springs and bilstiens, new wheels. Thinking about a toytec 2'' body lift and adj panhard. Better pics coming soon.

Are you sure it's not a '97? It has the 96-97 steering wheel...

Otherwise, nice find! I have a old, beat up 5-speed without the e-locker.

I'm in Vancouver too! Where did you end up taking your truck for the spray? I've been looking for a good shop for a while now...

Nice find! I looked for over a year in Vancouver for a 5 spd to no avail--- ended up with a 98 3.4L Auto. I moved up to the Okanagan a few years back and most of the trucks here are driven hard and have rust. I found the best place to search for a decent 4Runner was Vancouver, mostly mall crawlers, which have never been off-road!

Lots of 3rd gens here for sure but also alot are way overpriced and under maintained. I got real lucky on both after looking at about 20+ My 99 was also a one owner and she worked for regency toyota.

Way cool build. I have a 3rd gen and I've been mulling around the idea of putting a 2 or 3 in lift on it
