ToyTec SuperFlex Rear Spring INFO Thread
Although theyve been out for 4 or 5 years now, we've been getting a lot of calls about the Toytec Superflex rear coils lately. We decided to put up a thread here with the info weve collected and hopefully some of you that own them can chime in with reviews and pictures to help the other members here.
ToyTec Superflex Rear Coil Spring (1996-02 4Runner)
Part Number - 024RCB
Spring Rate - 240#
Compared to ARB / OME Springs, they are between the OME 2891 & OME 2861. These springs when loaded with 200# of weight will ride 2" higher than OME 2891.
Toytec Description
ToyTec Superflex Rear Lift coil springs offer a great ride quality and increased rear flex off-road while providing extra carrying capacity.
These coils are custom made to our high quality of standards. Come side specific to avoid typical driver side lean that most 3rd Gen 4Runner’s have.
With 10 coil winds these rear coils will handle more load without sagging and still maintain a great ride!
3.75”+ rear lift with stock rear weight. (Weve seen 4"+)
3.25” rear lift with 200lbs over stock rear weight.
3” rear lift with 400lbs over stock rear weight.
Recommended Shocks:
Bilstein 5100 - 33-187174 that measures 14.91col / 23.5ext

Fox 2.0 IFP - 980-24-675 that measures 14.95col / 23.55ext
Fox 2.0 Res - 985-24-117
Fox 2.5 Res - 883-24-004 that measures 15.20col / 23.97ext
ICON 2.0 VS - 56505 that measures 14.85col / 24.35ext

I liked mine because they held weight well and they rode pretty nicely. However I had a big issue with the coils collapsing and "clanking". I switched to LC 8 wraps and have been happy ever since.

Thanks for chiming in! Were you using rear bump stop extenders?

Any specifics on the "TOYTEC REAR 3" LIFT COILS 9602RC" and how they compare to the old man emu 890's and the superflex in spring rate/ride quality/height?
Thanks

Interested to see what peoples experience with these are. I amthinking about using them to replace the 891s I am currently running because they sit too low with a load...

The 9602RC is a 3" "medium duty" lift spring. It is a little shorter than the superflex. we will try to nail down the exact spring rate.

Great post
@ TotalAutomotiveLV
. Much needed info.
Does Toytec not make an HD version for the 3rd gen? I would love to run the Superflex in order to lower my rear a little bit, but I run with well over 500lbs (at some times closer to 700lbs) extra weight all spring, summer and fall. I'm worried the regular Superflex would have issues with that.

I have the superflex springs and with my rear bumper/ carrier, spare, couple go-bags in the back it sits level with me driving... but... if I have any other people inside the rear sits low

They only offer the two listed above. If the OME and ToyTec options wont cut it, there are several longer springs from the Land Cruiser that may work with the amount of weight you are carrying. Looking for the thread now.

I have the 861s and they're just a bit too tall for me unless I've got it fully loaded up. Tent, cooler, dogs, wife, gear, etc.
They're great springs and I love how the ride and handle weight... I just wish they were an inch and a half shorter. Give or take.

Did anyone ever get more info regarding the post above? I am torn between the toytec 9602RC and OME 890s with 4th gen 5100s.

Figured they might not be open + I'm still at work. I found one guy with a picture of them and it looked like he may have gotten more lift than I desire. Going to call Toytec omw home if they are still open.

Toytec offers 2 different versions of superflex Coils. Just so you know.
I have been running the 3.75" and I like it a lot. With savage rear tire carrier it almost sits level.
