Sad to see the legendary bumper go, but the Eimkeith one sure looks badass. Are you adding a swingout to it?

I am honestly not planning on it. This truck is so heavy as it is I am on a mission to lighten it up and keep the weight low. 99% of the time I'm with other people running the same bolt pattern and tire size and they all carry spares. If not I'll always have a plug kit on me. So unless it's a catastrophic failure Ill be covered. On the off chance I feel like I need a spare, I'll just run it in the back of the truck instead of my fridge.

The GFC Superlite Showed up this last week! Got to take it for a spin over the weekend on the girlfriend's Landcruiser.

Really enjoying this tent so far, definitely need to get used to the setup and takedown but fairly quick and love the weight. Super easy to install with 2 people and definitely possible solo. The main reason I even bought one is the weight.

This one is a blem, the only reason I was able to get one in less than 7 months. The part number on it is Tent 61 which is pretty rad. It's nice working in the industry for sure. Still waited almost 5 months.

Excited to get it on the 4Runner once it is all buttoned up!

Making more progress on the 4Runner.

Front diff is back in the truck, front ARB locker is plumbed. Waiting on the rear diff to get built. All the parts just showed up finally.

I ordered new wheels and tires as well. Would have kept my wheels but the size I wanted was only offered in a 17" wheel.

I went with KMC Impact OL's in a 17x9 -12 and am pretty stoked on these. Excited to see them in person.

As far as the tires I picked up Kenda Klever RT's in a 35x10.5r17 which is a pretty rad size. At only 63 pounds a tire this should be a pretty great setup for the underpowered pig.

Traveling through the next week, but the goal is to get the 4runner back together by Rock Therapy which is the end of the 3rd week of October.

Lets see if it can happen!

I had no idea anyone offered a 35x10.5R17. That's awesome! I can't wait to see them mounted and see what you think of them!

I'd love to see how those skinnies perform in Moab. Your videos are what inspired me to get a 3rd gen...so cool to unironically catch this thread!

Things are starting to look up!

The front is all buttoned up and the rear diff shows up today. The new wheel and tire combo is also looking amazing! Stoked to get it out and wheel this weekend!

Also, the bumper is going to be a fun project. I think I have to push it off till after Moab sadly.

What do you think about a spare-mount accessory for a Sherpa rack for those without a RTT up there? Or just chain it to a couple cross members?

We don't have a plan to make a spare tire mount, but a lot of people do get a Y strap and just attach those to some Sherpa Smileys and call it a day if they really want to strap a tire onto their rack.

Rock Therapy 2021

Really awesome trip out to Moab with some fun dudes.

It was great to get the runner out of the garage and finally use it for the first time in a while. The new 5.29 gears, front locker, and tires proved to be extremely impressive. The tires especially were above my expectations, they road awesome on the highway and performed way better than expected offroad. So much grip on the rock, plenty in the sand, they seem strong so far. Time will really tell but first impressions are awesome.

For a quick rundown, we ran Steel Bender first, this was with myself, Chad in the blue runner, Chase in the orange taco, Ryan in the single cab Tacoma and Jesse in the green 4Runner. Good group of dudes to wheel with for sure!

Even the bypass on this one is a bit erie. The short wheel base on this truck made The Fall a little less appealing. If I had my bumper done I would have gone for it though!
9A0A3982

We played around on this optional line for a bit. Got a little excited and broke the first CV for the weekend.
9A0A4296
9A0A4344

Then played on this one and broke the second one.
9A0A4491

The rest of the trail was easy and overall had a blast.

Steel Bender is up there in great trails. Outside of "The Fall" the trail can be made as hard or as easy as you want to its a fun one to get into if you're looking for some challenges but don't want to go over the top.

The next day we decided to run Cliff Hanger which is certainly one of the harder trails in the area. We only had me, Chad, and Chase for this one. IMO the smaller the group the better on the hard trails, which makes it go way quicker and less likely to have a break in the group slowing everything down.

This one has been on the bucket list for a while but it's hard to talk people into running it and easy to talk yourself out of it!

It now is one of my favorite trails in Moab but also the most technical I have done. I think it's due to the fact that there is not an insane amount of options so to drive everything you have to have good vehicle control and a decently capable rig. That being said the 4runners did amazing, the Tacoma proved a bit challenging with its wheelbase and width.

Super cool trail, we had to pull winch on the Taco twice, but both 3rd gens walked everything including a few of the optional harder lines.

Amazing pics! I'm constantly amazed what my 3rd Gen on 32 inch mud tires can do! Plenty of guys in built 5th Gen's struggle where my 3rd Gen just keeps on rocking! 35x10.50's look great and probably work a lot better on the 3rd Gen than some wide ass 12.50's.

Eimkeith Bumper

I finally glued the Eimkeith Bumper together and got it installed on the truck. I just need to time to paint it. I have 5 cans of SteelIt for it. I powder coated my last bumper and it touches up terribly so opting for a high-quality finish/coating that's easy to clean up during the off-season.

As always, another amazing product from Eimkeith. Stellar fitment even on my bent frame. The bumper gap is caused by my after-market rear body mounts being a 1/2 taller than factory.

I also installed a new axle shaft, bearing, seals etc to hopefully put this whole axle seal leak issue behind me.

Ready for Paint, just need time and motivation to do that.

Looks awesome dude! I'm a huge fan of the massive coverage those wings provide. Gonna look killer with some Steel It.

Awesome pics from Rock Therapy. Man it's nice sitting down for a nice ol' forum update and reading/looking at some good pics. Way more satisfying than social, but maybe thats cause I'm old now. lol I wanna get back down there and ACTUALLY run some Moab trails with you. Hell, I'd even run HITR again too.

Bumper looks wicked too - did you install the wing braces? I see some heat marks on yours so I'm thinking you did. They weren't a thing when my bumper got built, but I wonder if I should go through the hassle of putting them in.
