Bushing Kit

So i'm thinking of buying this bushing kit from ES on amazon. Its a complete kit; but its for 95.5 to 04 Taco's. I'm just wandering if it will fit my 99 4Runner before I buy it. I'm not positive, but i believe the front ends are identical. I could be wrong, and thats why I'm asking y'all. Any feed back would be great thanks.

PS here is a link to the kit

the main thing is tacoma has leafs in the rear, ours has links, and they dont make links for our generation so thats why there is no master kit.

So then yes i can use this kit to rebuild my front end? I know the rear stuff won't work, currently the rear is fine and not on my to do list at the moment. but here in a week or so aim pulley the entire front end, replacing what need to be replaced cleaning it up painting it and putting it back to gather. the reason i liked the kit was that it has everything i need for the front if it will work.

as for the UCA, it will work. for the LCA dont know but they sure look close to the fitting. remember tacos and 4runners have the same front suspension.

The bushing differences between a 4Runner and Tacoma will be the durometer (hardness) of the polyurethane. Tacoma will have stiffer bushings.

i dont think the bushings would be different as its not stated, however they sell all those parts as individual kits.

front control arms
steering rack
sway bar

just buy the ones you need and save

Different from what? Of course it's stated. The kit is specifically listed for a Tacoma and it's not just because Tacomas have leaf springs in the rear.

If you're feeling froggy go to Energy Suspension's website and look up the same front bushing sets for Tacoma and 4Runner. Some will have the same part numbers while others will have a separate part number for each model of vehicle.

Example: Steering rack bushings are 8.10103 for the 4Runner and 8.10101 for the Tacoma. Either set will physically fit either vehicle. I happen to have the Taco steering rack bushings on my 4Runner.

The front sway bar is usually 26mm, the Taco is 27mm....
I used Prothane #18-1115:
Front Sway Bar Bushings - Toyota 4Runner - 181115
Can't recall where I bought them at.

Steering rack bushings I pick up from Wheeler's

Today I measured my stock original sway bar and endlink rods with calipers to be:
1. Sway bar midpoint diameter was 1.042 inches (roughly 26.5mm)
2. Endlink bar midpoint diameter was 0.395 inches (roughly 10.0mm)

I called both companies to get sizes, and I was disappointed that they both seemed to be wholly unaware of the mismatched size problem.
1. Energy Suspensions 8.5118{R,G} kit: 888-913-6374 (the problem is apparently the swaybar body bushing size at 27mm is too big by 1mm)
2. Prothane #18-1115 kit: 888-776-8426 (the problem is apparently the endlink bushing size, at 0.600 inches is huge with roughly 5.5mm of slop!)

Domenic at Prothane told me the bushings should be undersized by 20 thousandths of an inch (0.5mm) for a proper fit.

Given that and the diameter of my positively stock OEM sway bar and endlinks, the size of the bushings should be:
1. Sway bar body bushings should be 26mm (1.024 inches)
2. Endlink rod bushings should be 9.5mm (0.375 inches or 3/8-inch)

I'm still confused about what sizes are actually shipped in the two kits, but it seems that the right sizes can only be obtained by getting
1. The 26mm (1.024 inch) swaybar body bushing from Prothane
2. The 9.5mm (3/8th-inch) endlink rod bushings from Energy Suspensions

Since it's unfair to have to purchase both kits just to get one fit, does anyone suggest a DIFFERENT kit manufacturer who has the part sizes right?

Lots more detail in this thread:
Found this greasy rubber part under my 4Runner (makes noise now)

I just got back from a business trip, but while i was gone i called Whiteline Suspension. they have all the bushing and the correct sizes; however the upper and lower control arm bushings are on back order with no projected in stock date. you also have to buy the bushings for each component separately no kits available (No Big deal). thats what i have come up with. Foo thanks for all the info and measurements swell those will definitely come in hand when i finally get to ordering parts to rebuild my front end.
