Shouldn't cause any mis-fires, its all about containing any gas fumes from being released. It's a convoluted system of checking for pressure, vacuum, phase of the moon, and whether you put your underwear on correctly. Lighting the CEL in and of itself isn't much more than a nuisance, but it could mask another problem if it was already lit. And of course in areas with emissions testing you will be burned at the stake.

Talking My 95 4runner problems

Hello! Quick question after plugging the hose did it resolve your situation with your vehicles? I been trying to figure out what to do about the same situation. My hose popped out of place and I'm quite unclear if where it goes 🤦*♀️🤷 and I don't trust my mechanic anymore, so been trying to do it on my own! If you guys can give any advice it would be great! P.s. this post helps alot🤗😁

Then locate the hose that runs from your Air Box to your Charcoal Canister. Pull the hose and cap the tube coming out of the Air Box. That's it! Now just unplug the pressure sensor and unbolt the Charcoal Canister to pull it all out.
Hi, I am working on the "russian swap" (want put the 5VZ-FE into my GAZ Sobol 4WD camper) and I found this great AssBurns solution. But I would like to ask what to do with VSV for VPS. If just unplug the connector and leave or this valve need to be electrically connected with unplugged hoses. Sure I don´t want the charcoal canyster under my hood...
Thanks a lot for advice!

You ever figure it out or did you ditch the idea long ago?
I know this is an old post but you're one of the few in the thread that tried it and is still active according to last login date
This way of doing the delete is pretty clean and appealing, but that purge solenoid was my first concern. Typically when you unplug stuff like that the ECU rightfully thinks it's gone dead and needs replaced. Also curious what's done with the hose leading to that solenoid as well
I'm kinda teetering on the ideas of "not really worth it" and "why not"

Sorry for the delay. Ditched the idea. Wasn't worth it to me to struggle with a work around. Have learned to embrace the wheezing. Gave the rig it's name "Wheezy" . It's just like me, a little bit of effort and it wheezes for days...

I think the later 3rd gens will flash the check engine light if there is an urgent problem, so removing the CEL bulb might be a bad solution
