Cbi bumper with swingout annoyances

Hey guys, so I couldn't find anything when I searched, maybe just using the wrong keywords but I have a CBI plate bumper with the swingout and the single jerry can holder, trying to find a fix for an annoyance I have- the jerry can rattles around in the carrier, it's like the top plate doesn't quite go down enough; wondering if anyone else has this problem and what they did about it, some kind of spacer or rubber thing in the bottom maybe?

Secondly, the arm itself rattles just a tad when I hit big bumps and its rubbing the powder coat away where it attaches and latches together. anyone have some kind of film or something thin they put there to prevent this?

Most people with the issue end up giving their bumper away. I guess I could take it off your hands and deal with the rattling.

I have a 4xinnovatoons but the jerry can holder should be the same or similar.. I used 1/4 thick foam sticky weatherstrip from Home Depot in mine to make the can fit tight and not rattle.

Don't have a rear tire carrier bumper, but I would try either some sort of thick closed cell foam, or matting material, or maybe a rubber pad. I suppose I would try to identify just where it is coming from. You might just line the base of the carrier with a foam footprint. Or, you may need to figure out some small sort of bracing action to keep the cans wedged in place without singing the jitters all damn day long. That would drive me nuts.

I lined the "lid" of my jerry can holder with peel'n'seal from Lowes. My water jug moves some, but the gas can doesn't move at all.

As for it rattling on bumps... When I assembled mine I put some pretty thick 3m double sided tape between every connection. Where the swingout "sits" (by the latch) I put some of this... Shop Waxman 2-Pack 4-in Rubber Pads at Lowes.com

I don't know if that's the exact product, but any hardware store should sell it. It's to keep couches/chairs from sliding on the floor.

What bugs me are the "sticks" on the stick bolts. I can NOT get those things to break off, so they rattle in the frame rails.

Hey bro, use the how to search sticky I wrote. It is on the main 3rd gen page.

CBI does not return results because it is a 3 char word 'CBI' and forum search only returns words with 4 or more characters.

I'm pretty sure there are some CBI threads you will find useful.

Thanks, I ended up getting that and partially lining the bottom on my jerry can holder with the rubber pads. No rattling so far!
