1997 4runner front door

Quick question I need a front door for my 1997 4runner and I found a front door but it's a 1998 4runner, will there be an issue installing the 1998 door to the 1997 4runner ????

Will you move over the inside panel and window switches? If so, then probably not. There are differences between Limited and SR5 and base models. 97 and 98 are pretty much the same electrically.

Angry 3rd gen - CV Axle replacement issue

Howdy everyone,

I am just now having an issue while replacing one of my cv axles on my 1999 4runner. I’ve installed the new cv axle that’s from autozone as youtube videos have instructed but am running into the issue of the inside end of the half shaft having around 2-4mm of linear wiggle. I’ve tried hammering it in more to no avail, only leading to slight mushrooming of the other end because i’ve hammered so much (luckily i was still able to screw on the castle nut with no cross threading).

Is this wiggle normal? Or should I try to reinstall it or replace it?

Here is a youtube video link: 3rd gen toyota 4runner cv axle issue - YouTube

Cheers, let’s hope I can fix this soon and get home!!

Some play is expected - did you try pulling it out by hand after installing it? Typically if you can't pull it out by hand, the c-clip is seated and you are good to go.

I have had to do this many times

You can clear your own drains with a little persuasion from weed whacker line or some other type of solid line you can snake in the drains.

**In the video, I say the driver side rear drain travels down the B-Pillar but it actually travels down the C-Pillar and then over the wheel-well.

**Some people have employed the use of compressed air but you need to be careful if you choose this method. If you use too high of air pressure, you could force the drain tube off the fitting and then you'd be forced to pull down your headliner so you can reattach the drain tube.
