Lumbar support switch does not work

Is there a fuse I can replace to make it work? or is the motor just broken? Anyone ever have this problem? If so, please chime in. Oh, it's a 2000 limited btw . Thanks..

it's pushing up on my lower back and it sucks! i havent had time, but I'm going to try and look under the seat to see if there's any loose wiring. Love my truck so far though

Same here...I don't really care if it ever works, I just need to adjust it one time so it is not pushing into my back so much.

I have a 99 with the same problem. I tore into it and found a stuck motor. There is a little slop in the worm gear that could cause it to bind up on itself. I freed it and it worked but it was weak. It got stuck again a week later. I find that if I don't max it out forward or back that it doesn't get jammed. Either way the motor is weak and its so quiet you can barely tell its moving. I took a picture of it but can't seem to find it now. The seat cover does come off fairly easy, really only a 5 minute job to get into the motor.

Mine works but hangs out. Can't for the life of me to get it into position so it stays in the seat. Grrrr! Gets irritating when it gets caught on the seatbelt and trying to wrestle it so I can get buckled up.

I messed around with the switch earlier and had no noticeable change, but when i put my ear right next to the seat, I could hear the motor working but sounded very weak, I got the lumbar support to adjust just enough so that my back isnt uncomfortable anymore..honestly i could give a sh*t less if the motor took a sh*t on me and stopped working for good.

I would like to know this also. I didn't think you could remove the leather seat cushion cover. Anyone?

I just found the pictures from when I did this. The leather seat cover isn't hard to remove. I unhooked the back edge and worked it up far enough to get to the motor. You can see the extra space on either end of the worm gear, it shifts end to end instead of staying in place like it should. Never found a good solution, just freed it up, helped it with the channel lock while holding the button to where I wanted it and left it.

Here is the motor with the cover opened, the worm gear is what was jammed up.

Location in bottom right corner of seat back. Channel Loc on arm to coax the motor into moving again after it got stuck again.
