The satashi looks great! What material did you use for the backing?

Thank you!! It took many hours to make it. At least for me it did. I can see why they are pricey when pre-made.

I got the mesh from custom car grills.com The mesh is real sturdy not flimsy.

So I wanted to add a little more "rake" so I added two 10mm OME spacers per side. But I needed longer shocks so went with the Tundra 5100's.

I was sick for a bit so I could not do any strenuous activities. So, I did s mini rebuild on my sons BMX bike. A 85 Diamondback Pacer 500

Did a little bridge mod on my p bass

And then acquired these LC 8.75 wrap springs for $10!!

So, now that I am feeling better I hope to do some more fun stuff to my truck!!

Today I was able to do a 1.5" body lift. I am not going to lie, It took a lot out of me. Only because I hit some bumps along the way. That rag joint is a PITA!! But it's done and seems like it's ok.

The only thing that I don't care is that the steering is stiff. The spacer is there. It doesn't want to return to center after a turn. Do you guys/gals think the slip yoke(bolt above the rag joint) needs to be adjusted??

Fat Pats kit:

Also need a bracket to get the bumper back to norm. I will get that little later.

I am pretty tired but I hung in!!

I replaced the starter contacts and plunger a few months back. Truck would not start at times. Battery was new, alternator was working so I figuered it was that.

Got a $10 eBay kit. Watched MTBTIM's vid on replacement. Thanks!!

Starts like a champ now!!!

Rallypoint_1's 1998 SR5 2WD

Got my bumper back to normal after the BL. Used 1.5" brackets from 4crawler Offroad.

Very nice build and what a blank canvas your dad's car was. Amazing "find".

Seeing the Diamondback BMX above (That puppy looks light!), I realize now my passion for 4runners started with my Redline back in early 80s;)

Thank you!

Ya there was!! I put in a new third member. It’s from ECGS. 4.56” gears and Yukon locker.

Did real well on her maiden voyage after the break-in period. I will say that if an aftermarket case is used then you need to widen the opening for the third to slide in. It will hit the adjuster wheels.

That rear locker with better gearing sure made things easy!! Funny that the other guys wanted to try stuff in 2wd too. LOL It’s NOT a rock crawler but she did well. Son and I had a blast!!!

I ran my rig 2wd for years before converting it to 4x4. In fact the conversion took place within a year of regearing and locking my rear axle...just saying you might get the 4x4 itch coming soon.

Honestly though we regeared and locked can get you amazing places that will surprise a lot of the 4wd folks.

Keep up the good work on this build.

Conversion? I would love to do it! Just lack the time and cash. Totally amazed on the performance of the truck. Where other Runners were spinning tires, I just crawled up due to the new gearing.

Here is a short vid. Not crazy but it was really steep! The vid doesn’t show the true angle.

Ive seen others with open 2wd do that hill and it takes spped and spinning so good on you.

I would roll with a friend in his 2010 Taco and he would spin in ruts and really loose soil with 4x4 and open diffs. I was able to slowly creep those same areas as 2wd with 4.88 and locker with trans pulled into 1st gear. Had to feather the gas to give little power bumps to get over things but didn't lose traction.

Ya I didn’t want to try to barrell up that hill, spinning and bouncing all over without the locker or re-gear.

Hey that’s cool!!! I need to look into a conversation. Has to be this truck though. Oh btw...I just hit 105k miles!!!!
