Doing rear wheel bearings/seals/brakes on both of my 4runners (96, 01). Ordered parts thru Camelback Toyota and entered VINs for both vehicles.

1st one pictured is for 2001, 2nd orange is for the 96. 01 bearing has a lip.







Finished the 96 today and used the orange bearing 40020-77. I will RR the 01 next week because the vehicle is 100 miles away and I will drive it here this weekend. I have no way to take off rear axles until Monday and will see if the bearings match. Don't want any surprise and setbacks once I have the rear apart.

I called my brother who works @ a Toyota dealer to verify and he says it's the correct part # (40068 for 01 4runner). BFAD used the orange bearing (#40020-77) on his 01 4Runner. Anyone with a 01-02 4Runner use the brown bearing (-40068)?

Are both 6308?

brown one with lip is NACHI brand 40BCV09S1, orange is KOYO 6308. Identical except for lip on 40068 bearing
