Driver door handle won't open door anymore?

I pulled up the driver door handle yesterday to get in my truck and I couldn't get in. Something came off inside the door. I took off the door panel and this yellow plastic piece that keeps a metal rod in place was cracked. See photo. Anyone know what I need to order? The piece looks like it's just there to keep the metal rod from falling out.

Swing the plastic clip. It snaps onto the rod so it won't fall out

Make a small notch on the plastic and tie it to the metal rod with a metal wire.
Any toyota door handle carries this plastic tab and they are all same size. Ebay sells 90+ corolla door handles for $5 shipped and just pull off the yellow plastic tab.

No need to spend $5 buying used/new handles when you can get the clip brand new from Toyota for less than $3

69293-12040 should be the correct clip.

OK, I got lucky and my dealer was able to find out what it was. A lot of the pieces in there are color-coded and it even said it was a yellow plastic piece in their computer for a whopping $2.40. They'll have it in tomorrow. Thanks!

Yep, that's it! Going to pick it up now. I'm assuming install is easy and new one just slips on?

That's a good idea with the metal wire to hold you over, if you can't wait for your dealer to get the piece in or wait for delivery.

Well, the dealer ordered the wrong clip in! I did the metal wrire trick as I can't keep going in through the passenger side! I'll have them order the correct clip and keep it as a spare if the metal wire doesn't last...

There are only two clips, the white and the yellow. How did they screw this up?!

They ordered the smaller yellow clip that mounts behind the inner door handle (which holds a smaller metal bar), and not the yellow clip for the exterior door handle which holds the bigger/thicker bar....
