inexpensive Shocks and Front coil overs

Has anyone purchased the cheap shock set on Amazon for less than $200 ?
I would assume the quality is not the best but they are inexpensive. I think they are made by Detroit Axle. Might be comparable to Harbor Freight tools for quality correlation. Here is a link:

I think most will tell you to just do it right the first time. An OME set is about $850. If you swap ut out later, you'll be out $400 in labor and $100 for another alignment.

I dont know about this particular set, but I went the cheapo route dropping my Integra and regretted it the next day. I saved a few months and ended up redoing it with a full Tein suspension.

He's looking for OEM height and ride, OME doesn't provide that. Better off getting KYB Gas-a-Justs and Moog springs if your old springs are too sagged.

The reviews look good but those people are not us. If I were to go cheap I'd get Rancho's or Monroe's & keep your front coils. Or spend a few more $$ get 4 new 99 talls.

I had KYB'S on another 4Runner and they were a little harsh compared to original Tockico ? I am going to get the cheap set and a new set of Moog rear springs. Cash is a little tight right now. I know that hundreds of sets were sold on Ebay so someone has tried them. I like the looks of a lifted truck but I really don't like the way these trucks ride when using a cheap lift like 5100's and a Daystar on the back. Thanks for your input.

Are you sure you didn't have the Monomax? Those are quite harsh.

Moog springs will sag in a year, waste of money. You wont be saving anything.
I have 4 used 99 talls with 143,000 miles on them. I'll sell them to you for $50 & you pay the shipping which is around $30 UPS ground. Then p/u the cheap new shocks of your choice.

I think you're right. I remember the MONO Max stickers that came with them. They were definitely harsh. Teeth chattering.

Why not pick up a set of bilsteins 5100s? Fronts can be had for just under $200 or so. Then I'd pick up that set of 99 talls ^ Moog springs sag

I recently purchased from RockAuto:

MONROE 2171351L37157 Quick-Struts w/OE Spectrum Shocks: $216.79
Tacoma World Discount: $10.84
Shipping: $21.98
Total: $238.77
Rebate: $75 (received prepaid card in mail 4 weeks after purchase)
Moog 81041 Coil Spring (Pair): $31.45 (Amazon)

That's below $200 for the whole thing.
