Fadiddy's 3rd Gen Build

Sup guys,

So I have had my 3rd Gen for 3 years now, and it has been quite an interesting ownership experience. I bought the car with 192k miles on the odometer, one owner, no major accidents (exception of owner running into a parking pole...minor dent). I had the dreaded strawberry milkshake but luckily only drove for a few miles when it happened and immediately went to work on replacing the radiator, cleaned trans pan and valve body, flushed engine coolant system, and replaced trans filter. Runs fine with new LBJ's, bushings, and Tundra Brakes upgrade.

Anyhow, I am wanting to lift the truck 3inches and really give it a off road worthy look. I have started collecting all the parts I need to lift the truck 3inches and most recently have done the following (more to come):

This is what I started with a few weeks ago (has Tundra Brake Upgrade):

Here are the lift components; 285/75R 16 AT2's, TRD Tundra front springs, OME 890's rear, Bilstien 5100's around, Spidertrax 1.25in spacers, Toyotec Diff Drop and brake line relocation, etc...(not all parts are in the pic):

ARB Bumper (love this thing):

Started on the bumper first by having the frame ends cut and welded closed:

Hit the whole front with underbody coating. Here in Chicago, salt is the grim reaper of cars:

Installed the bumper mounts and bumper:

Bumper on and lights wired. Truck looks awesome from the front, but without the lift and wheels, still doesn't look as aggressive:

Toyota Sienna JBL NAV E7006 w/JBL Amp wired up. Works flawlessly!:

Toyota Sienna OEM Nav installed:

My 1000HP project ;-) :

I will most likely be asking folks on the forums here for some advice on the lift install...never done it before, so any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Fadiddy's 3rd Gen Build

Sweet build. I usually don't like the look of ARB on any vehicle because it's too much of a "safari" look for my liking but for some reason I like the ARB on these more than I like shrock

Thanks! Yeah, I was on the fence about getting either the ARB or the ShrockWorks, and a member on here in Illinois (not far from me) was actually selling one used...but wasn't in the best condition. Overall, I was leaning more towards ARB just because I have seen videos of their assembly process of these bumpers, and build quality is very nice. Instructions suck for putting this thing together, but you sort of figure it out as you look at the parts for hours .

Yeah I watched that 30 minute video once. Was pretty neat. My 4Runner came with shrock so I am sticking with it

Thanks! The wiring was a pain i will be honest. A metra harness and variety of colored wiring made it alot less frustrating, but still a pain. If you need help wiring it, let me know.

No, this is definitely NOT going in the T4R.

Building up a 2JZ to either go in a clean MKIV Supra or a FD RX-7.

I take it you have never heard of the 2JZ platform? No twins for me....she'll be single.

Check this out:

Check this out:

Obviously, there will be more than just a turbo (fuel system upgrade, ECU, cams, bottom end upgrade, etc...) but that is all in my list.

Thanks! Yeah progress has been slow on the 2JZ as parts are $$$....but well worth it in the end.

Was scrolling though here just looking at the pictures thinking: "4Runner. Check. Lift. Check. Tires. Check. Bumper. Check. 2J sitting on the floor. Check, wait hold up."

I may be partial but I think you should put it in a MK3 Supra

Or the 4Runner and shred all 4 tires at once.

Unner, I need to first get that thing fully built....2JZ parts are ridiculously pricey. I was actually thinking of a MK3, but I really want a mid-90's Japanese donor sports car for the 2JZ. I probably won't find a MKIV Supra, but maybe an FD RX-7.

If all else fails, and I cannot find a sports car to put her in....then an FJ40 will be its new home.
