Roof rack rail refresh question

So I took my Roof rack rails off today to refresh my roof and repaint them, I have a question though- I have all the bolts taken off and want to wash the roof and wax it but I dont know if the holes from the bolts are going to leak into my headliner of if there is a channel in there that drains it

Put the bolts back when you wash. It will leak into the headliner if you wash without them. When you reinstall the roof rack, but a dab of silicon on the threads to stop future leaks.

Good to know! I just pulled a roof rack from a yard (dude wasnt home) and want to get it installed properly.

Does anyone know the torque spec for the roof rack mounting bolts?
