99 Surf OBDII Port Location?

This past weekend I looked everywhere for my OBD II port. Some reason I don't have one ?? Maybe this port is standard for US models but not for Japan models. Any info would be much appreciated.

Try looking above gas pedal and to the right behind center console cowling?

Japan required OBDII for all vehicles starting in 2002. So you may not have one. My Brazilian '97 HiLux does not have one. (Brazil only required it in 2007.)

Check under the hood for an Emissions information sticker. It should state if the vehicle is OBDII compliant.

Mine is right beside the intake manifold on the right, very visible, you would not miss it.

though I'm under the impression the JDM ODBII is different then the USDM/CAD one's anyways.

US models had them since 96. Diagnostic port under hood. Odb2 under dash.

Fairly sure your surf does not have one. My 98 does not and from what other users have mentioned and what I found it uses the 22 pin plug MOBD system

see this thread OBD II protocol - 4x4 Hilux Forum(half way down) for more info, some years of the surfs have been found to have OBO II while its most common for the MOBD system used in Japan for those years
