Hunter Odyssey Battery

Hi guys

I'm looking for the best possible battery for my 3rd Gen, and I've been steered away from Optima batteries (since they stopped being produced in the US) and towards the Odyssey range. Does anyone know if they make a battery which precisely fits the 3rd Gen 4Runner?

Thanks!

I just installed mine a month or so ago. I got a 35-PC1400. It fit perfectly with no mods needed. No complaints so far. My expectations are pretty high considering the last battery I bought was an optima yellow top about 12 years ago for my 92 pickup. Time will tell

34R-PC1500 also fits just fine, but you might need to make a new bracket bar for it (I did).

I love my 27F X2 Power battery from Batteriesplus which is a rebranded Northstar..... This has some serious juice.... Fits well with no real mods other than getting rid of the little plastic tray

I got the size 27 from Costco. Have been happy with it so far.

Nothing wrong with Optima batteries, I have a red top and I abuse it regularly (playing stereo for hours, tapping the battery for lighting) and it work great. I did buy an AGM battery charger though, every couple of months I let it charge overnight and it's as strong as ever.

There's lots of good batteries out there though with unique applications so it may not be the best for everyone.

I've been running an Odyssey battery for about 6 years now, with no problems. It kept going even when my alternator was crapping out. If it ever does die, I will for sure get another one.
