2WD guys....what tires are you running?

I need new tires. I drive almost exclusively on the highway.

The truck had Goodyear Wranglers on it since I bought it.

Any advice on what to get or avoid?

General Grabber HTR's, for cheap good highway tires or Michelin's if you got the cash.

The best tire for any SUV period. Assuming you use it like a normal person.

Can't argue with this - have had 2 sets of them on mine - but just put new rubber on mine and went with the Toyo Open Country HT. So far I love the way they ride on the road, yet to be determined on longevity. They were about $200 less than the Michelin.

My goodyear's look like a proper truck tire but now they are so noisy it drives me insane. I'm running 265/75's.

I'm going to check the Toyos, I don't want to spend almost a grand on the Michelins

I have bfg ko 31x10.5x15 and they ride really good on the road. They dont have that much road noise. They also greatly improved the look of my 4runner. Whenever these wear out ill probably buy the ko2s cause these have been great so far

I had excellent luck w/ Yokohama Geolanders, and after 3 years I offroaded in them on rocks and they didn't explode like they should have. edit: this is a 4WD, just thought I would share. Those tires held up to a lot of abuse, as well as carrying a loaded 6x9 trailer from MN to CA then to Denver.

I bought the Michelin Defender LTX M/S (replacement for LTX M/S2) about 7k mi ago and I like them a lot. Deep treads, great grip in the rain.

I also do basically 90% interstate driving (to the tune of 18-20k/yr) and they seem to ride well. Time will tell how they hold up but they supposedly combined the tread pattern of the LTX with the more wear resistant materials of their Defender line to make them.

The original LTX already wore amazingly well. This Defender better be the world's first "lifetime" tire if they want to improve upon something they already hit the bullseye with 20+ ago.

Who knows. The website says something about improving the tire compound. I doubt they'll be worse and they weren't any more expensive.

*shrug*
