So I've had a very slight ATF leak for a couple years that seemed to be getting worse over the last month. I crawled underneath, and it appeared to just be the pan gasket failing.
I took it to the dealership, and they confirmed my diagnosis before pulling the pan and re-sealing. Afterward the leak was even worse than before.
Took it back and they re-sealed again.
Still leaking.
Took it back and now they say that the Neutral Safety Switch was loose and is causing the leak. They tightened, but said it needs to be replaced ($300+).
I took a picture in my garage, and it definitely looks like it is leaking and probably running along the edge of the pan (which is why it looked like the pan was leaking before).
My question is this. Has anybody run into a leaking Neutral Safety Switch before, and is there any way to repair/stop the leak without a complete replacement?
Thanks dudes!
