Nice, good tech! Do you happen to have any pictures from when you did yours?
EX valve lash spec is 10-14 thou. My rear is reading a tight 11 (so 10.5) and I will bide my time until it wanders outside the spec before pulling the cam.

Sadly I forgot to take pics, all I got is pics that look just like yours with cams in before I took them out of my 3rz. I think I changed 3 shims and my rear was the tightest too If I remember correctly. I got replacements from LCE. My engine ran much better that it could fart correctly again

Jordan,
You won't have any trouble pulling the cam. I just completed a valve job on mine and if I can do it, I know you can...
Eastwood gave you good info, make sure you put the service bolt in the sub gear of the exhaust cam before loosening the cam bolts. Also, like Eastwood said follow the FSM bolt sequence.
If you don't have FSM, let me know and I can post page(s).

Somehow it can be done. That is one I have changed. I believe it involved me basically laying on top of the engine and cursing a lot. I set that one closer to the loose end of spec hoping to never have to touch it again.

Hey Jordan,
I want to complete this 'mini mod', but I'm pretty much ignorant when it comes to electrical. So is it really as easy as you say? I just cut the ground wire from the side marker light and connect it to the 'hot' wire of the turn signal?
Also, I have already installed LED bulbs in my side marker, but have incandescent bulbs in the turn signals. Will this make any difference?

It's literally as easy as what is shown. BUT it may not work with LEDs... in fact probably won't unless someone more EE-savvy informs you where to put some resistors.

It should actually work just fine with incandescent turn signals and LED corner lights... as long as the LEDs used in the corner lights are 'non-polarized' ones.
Check this by making sure they light up when inserted both ways in the stock wiring configuration. If they do, you are golden.

Thanks for the help. My LED bulbs are non-polarized, so I got lucky. I am going to attempt this mod tomorrow.
