Did they cut that based on VIN or just copy your existing key? That thing looks pretty good.

Cut using VIN. They are super nice and crisp.

you can easily brute force a cylinder if you have the old key, just start trying wafers and it only takes maybe 10 mins and you can start reading them right off the key or get within 1 wafer number. I got kind of good at it when I did the entire truck.

I don't know the formula of how they encode it into the VIN but you can get a piece of software and it just does it for you.

it was a pain but having all new wafers and all new key to match every lock in the truck is nice. I have one key that lock/unlocks the door, starts the truck, locks and unlocks the glovebox, and does the up/down on the rear window.

you can also get the wafer sequence off the passenger side door cylinder that was used from the factory for all the locks.

i love how this looks, do you have a schematic on how you did the wiring? i've got a kenmore excelon single din stereo and would love to add this too.

Pro tip. You can store your quart size oil bottle in the space between the airbox and the side wall. There isn't enough space between the top of the air box and the hood for it to fly out when the hood is closed.

A quart or so of oil leaks out of my 4runner between oil changes so having somewhere to store it was essential, never had it any issues.

Sorry if this has already been answered but I'm curious why you replaced the cable rather than just removing the slack using the adjustment section near the throttle body. Does that rubber bushing really help smooth out throttle response that much?

I'm not JZ of course, and while I have not done this replacement on my 4Runner, I have on another ride or two... Even though I was able to adjust it to get the desired tension, I had to do so more often than what I'd prefer, due to such a part deteriorating so rapidly because of its condition. That might have been a factor here or just good preventative maintenance, which JZ does admirably.

Thanks Tony! My bushing is completely shot so I don't think it will get much worse at this point and I was able to take up the slack via the adjustment section on the cable assembly. Haven't taken it out on the road yet but at least it's still idling okay.

Pretty much exactly what I did with the flares on my SR5 Sport to clean them up.

True! It’s great that BHicks stepped up to provide these. The OEM full length ones are still rare though.

Just learning now how to print in ABS, I might could modify the original model out there on thingaverse to make them look like the originals. Hmmm.....

The file for the original does exist somewhere - it is just bigger than most 3D printers. And it would be very fragile hanging down that low...

How about a hybrid material option? 3D print semi rigid as a short flare but include bosses for a flat rubber extension to be screwed onto.
