Need help diagnosing Error Codes

I have a 2001 4runner 2WD with 190,000 miles and it has been running like a champ until lately I have been having some error codes pop up and need help diagnosing the cause.

Earlier this year in June I did some maintenance work for stuff that hadn't been done (plugs, wires, DS 02 sesor, pads, air intake hose, fuel filter, cleaned Throttle body, PCV valve with hose and grommet, etc) and then I moved from Alabama to Idaho which was a lot of driving with no problems. But in the last month or so I have been having these codes come on and can't figure it out. I am not the most mechanically inclined so please bear with me, but any input will be greatly appreciated.

The codes are: C1201, C1223, C1224, C1253, and P0420.

The P0420 is a code saying your catalytic converter isnt operating at the right efficiency, so that could either be a failing rear o2 sensor or the catalytic converter needing to be replaced. As near as I can tell from some googling the codes starting with a c are related to the abs system having a fault. Hope this helps some.

This link might also have some better info. http://www.toyota-4runner.org/proble...ine-light.html

Post the descriptions for the C codes. Those are chassis codes

P0420 means you need a cat on bank 1

Here are the codes and descriptions. Scroll down to your PO code then scroll further down to the C codes. I would take the codes to a Toy mech and at least ask for their opinion, at least you'll know what they are talking about....good luck...!!

I have checked the descriptions, but don't know the best way to diagnose the cause. I know the C2101 is default when the CEL comes on.
C2123 is ABS control system malfunction
C1224 indicates the NE Signal Circuit
C1253 indicates the motor relay circuit

Is there a way to distinguish between the cat and the 02 sensor other than changing the 02 sensor and seeing if it goes away?
