More sleeping space in back of 4runner

I've seen threads about this, but I know there is some way you can change the back seats in the 4runner (99) and there is about a foot more room, can anyone help me with this? Thanks

I've gone camping and slept in mine but it was with the seats folded down and a foam matress on top.

Unless you take out the front section of the back seat (the part you sit on), I don't see how this is possible. I have laid down in the back, but my feet touch the rear hatch, so I have to lay down diagonally.

My dad has a Rodeo and you can adjust the rear seats on how far back they recline. This would be a nice feature. It just has different stops on the side of the car where it latches to the seat.

BTW: The Rodeo seems cheap and pooly made, but it does haul a$$!

im exactly six feet. I did this at riverrock and slept in the back with a sleeping bag.. there is enough room however my feet did touch the seats that were folded up.. if you can do the wing seat bolt mod at yotatech.com. you can pull the seats that are upright and have more leg room.

I doubt their is enough room to put an airmattress in there but there sure is in an 80 series landcrusier.. one of the guys at riverrock had an airmattress in his and had both his kids sleep in the back with him.

I have a sub and amp box that I have to move everytime though. really need some side panel subs.

just do the wing nut seat bolt mod.

sleep

I've slept in mine many times on road trips. Seats down and lying head near the tailgate and angled, I was able to fit comfortable with a pillow and thick blanket. Pretty comfortable I must say for my height...5'11"

Cool idea on the wing-nut mow, but $80.00 for them to drill and provide you with the wingnuts seems a bit pricey. I am sure you could comeup with something cheaper after wandering around home depot or ace hardware long enough.

Well, I'm sure you could do the mod yourself, it just helps to see stuff w/ pics.
